Universal Studios Home Video have announced the Region 1 DVD release of Pride and Prejudice (Deluxe Gift Set) on 13th November 2007 priced at $39.98 SRP. Joe Wright directs this 2005 adaptation of the Jane Austen novel in which Keira Knightley stars as heroine Elizabeth Bennet. Upon meeting the handsome Mr. Darcy (Matthew Macfadyen) Elizabeth believes him to be the last man on earth she could ever marry. But as their lives become intertwined, she finds herself captivated by the very man she swore to loathe for all eternity. Thanks for the info and links, Liz. Love the package artwork. Yeah, I was hoping they would include that too (MM's audition with KK) as well as deleted scenes, outtakes, country dance rehearsals. Oh well, at least we got a gift set 2-disc dvd. Even though nothing much new, I'm still glad they're releasing it as I only own the Region 1 (US) version. Also, the Conversations with the Cast sounds new to me, unless other versions has it. I wonder if they are new interviews, that would be awesome. Btw, speaking of this, I was just thinking of this the other day, lol. What a coincidence, eh? If they ever release a director's cut or special collector's edition, I want them to released the following (aka my wishlist ): Deleted Scenes (all of them ) Outtakes (lots of them ) Keira Knightley's Audition Matthew Macfadyen's Audition with KK (proposal scene) New Promotional Photos of KK & MM promoting the Special DVD New Promotional Photos of P&P '05 cast The Country Dance Rehearsal New Cast Interviews Cast @ the Toronto International Film Festival featurette Keira Knightley @ the Golden Globes & Oscars featurette London & NYC Premiere featurette and many more. I can never get enough of P&P related stuff, lol. Can't wait till November! Something to look forward to. Also, November mark the 2 years anniversary of P&P '05 film's theatrical released here in the U.S. (November 11th was the limited and November 23rd was wide). Next month though (September 16th) will be 2 years for the UK theatrical release. Thanks. Hopefully, there will be more special P&P DVD releases in the near future. I'd love for at least the first 4 things on my wishlists to be on whatever special edition they'll release. Hmm..I wonder if we're getting this DVD here. I haven't been able to find a copy at my regular DVD stores here for quite some time (all sold out probably .. ). We all felt the same when we heard this news about this new deluxe gift set dvd that's not so new when it comes to the bonus materials that they for it. That would've been awesome to have them included there. The conversation with the cast and the collectible book (hoping it's the online companion book) sounds to be the only 2 new stuff they've added there. Still, I'm getting this as I love the dvd cover art and I haven't seen the U.K./International bonus features. I've only seen the U.S. one, so that's still good for me. Just give us MM's audition with KK (in the first proposal scene), deleted scenes, and the outtakes featurette...and we'll all be happy and definitely be getting this gift set without second thoughts.
